An Equestrian Canada Certified Coach Level 1 since 2005, Sue has been an avid equestrian and horse owner for most of her life.
She has earned College Diplomas from Fanshawe College in Office Administration as well as Business Accounting and has a diverse resume of related expertise.
In her role as Equine Specialist, Sue is able to share her passion for horses and the power they hold. She focuses on observing the horses' behaviours and safety during sessions.
Sue‘s other role at London Equine Assisted Therapy is Program Director where she takes care of our administration including booking sessions and organizing group functions.

REBECCA BROWN MSW
2016 EAGALA CERTIFIED MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
Rebecca Brown is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a career that has spanned over three decades within medical social work childhood trauma and crisis response fields. Her clinical time is now shared between her private practice in Southwestern Ontario which includes certification in EMDR and Equine Assisted Therapy. Rebecca is certified in the EAGALA Model of Equine Assisted Therapy and serves the role of Ontario Network Coordinator and on the EAGALA Professional Development Committee to ensure professionalism and high standards of practice and is currently working towards her Advanced Level Certification.
Together with Equine Specialist and Program Director, Sue Hatherell, they co-founded London Equine Assisted Therapy in 2016. Rebecca's career moved up to Bruce County from 2019 to 2026 where she was the Coordinator of the Equine Facilitated Wellness Program at Prance Therapeutic Equestrian Centre in Port Elgin. Rebecca gained valuable experience on Bruce Country's Fire Department Critical Incident Response Team. Now back in the London area, Rebecca and Sue are thrilled to offer Equine Assisted Therapy for individual clients, groups for women, children, first responders, veterans and corporate events. Funding is available through Health Canada's NIHB program, Metis Ontario, Blue Cross, Victims Services and most insurance companies (Sunlife, Manulife, Green Shield).

ELIZABETH HARDY, BSW (HONS), MSW, RSW
2018 EAGALA CERTIFIED MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
Elizabeth Hardy earned both a Bachelor of Social Work (with honours) and Masters of Social degrees at the University of Western Ontario and Sir Wilfrid Laurier University respectively.
Elizabeth has worked in the area of child and adolescent mental health for twenty years and more recently has extensive psychotherapy experience with those experiencing traumatic life events, domestic violence and with those who use abuse towards others.
Person - centered and anti-oppressive approaches are hallmarks of Elizabeth's ethos.
Elizabeth is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy levels 1 & 2 through Wilfrid Laurier University, and is trained in Image Transformation Therapy.
Other therapy modalities provided include: Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic-Based Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Narrative-Based Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

RAWAN ALDAQES, SLPA
2025 HORSE POWERED READING INSTRUCTOR
Rawan Aldaqes is a Speech-Therapy Assistant (SLPA) who has extensive experience working with children with speech and language delays using trauma-informed and neurodiversity affirming care. Rawan has also obtained a Master's degree in Advanced Health Care Practice - Applied Health Sciences from Western University in 2024. Rawan is passionate about working with children and adults on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), Down Syndrome, and Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) using a strength-based approach offering a safe and fun environment for growth.
Rawan's love for horses and passion for reading since a young age inspired her to combine both of her passions through the Horse Powered Reading ® (HPR) program where she became a certified HPR instructor in 2025. Through he HPR programs, Rawan will be offering individual and group reading programs tailored to each individual literacy level alongside Sue Hatherell, EAGALA certified Equine Specialist, and our team of horses.
